Strong earthquake was felt across northern Nepal

16 APRIL, KATHMANDU – A strong earthquake was felt across northern Nepal early this morning, with its epicenter located near the Nepal-China border. The tremor was recorded at Dinggyê County in Shigatse, China.

According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center in Kathmandu, the quake had a magnitude of 5.0 and struck at 4:05 AM. The epicenter was approximately 18 kilometers from Nepal’s border.
